So as all of you may know already, I am a Pastry Arts student at The Chef's Academy in Morrisville, NC. This is one of my practical exams: Working with Nougatine and Marzipan. For those of you who do NOT know what Nougatine and Marzipan are.. well, that's why I'm here.
Nougatine is kinda like peanut brittle, except it's made with almonds, not peanuts. And you can mold it into shapes as it's cooling down. I made my nougatine into a sushi platter and soy-sauce dish.
The Marzipan is an almond paste concoction that is made for making delicacies (as seen above) And it hardens over time to make a hard candy c:
Everything you see above is edible, except for the white plate underneath > u < I won first prize and the "Most Creative Idea" Award in my class.
